The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) "focuses the collective strength of the nuclear energy industry to shape policy that ensure the beneficial uses of nuclear energy and related technologies in the United States and around the world."

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) was "established by a group of individuals who recognized the need to unify the professional activities within the diverse fields of nuclear science and technology."

 

U.S. Governmental Organizations

EIC maintains excellent working relationships with many U.S. Governmental Organizations that play a role in effectively executing nuclear transports.

The Department of Commerce "promotes job creation, economic growth, sustainable development and improved living standards for all Americans."

Federal Transit Administration’s mission is to "ensure personal mobility and America’s economic and community vitality by supporting high quality public transportation through leadership, technical assistance and financial resources."

Federal Aviation Administration’s mission includes "regulating U.S. commercial space transportation" and developing and implementing programs to control environmental effects of civil aviation.

Federal Highway Administration’s mission is to "create the best transportation system in the world for the American people through proactive leadership, innovation, and excellence in service."

U.S. Maritime Administration’s mission is to "promote the development and maintenance of an adequate, well-balanced, United States merchant marine, sufficient to carry the Nation’s domestic waterborne commerce and a substantial portion of its waterborne foreign commerce."

The International Trade Administration’s (ITA) mission is "encourage, assist and advocate U.S. exports, ensure U.S. business has equal access to foreign markets, and enable the U.S. businesses to complete against unfairly traded imports and to safeguard jobs and the competitive strength of American industry."

Department of Energy (DOE) "is a leading science and technology agency whose research supports out nation’s energy security, national security, environmental quality, and contributes to a better quality of life for all Americans."

Department of State (State) states that "diplomacy is an instrument of power, essential for maintaining effective international relationships. It is a principal means through which the United States defends its interests, responds to crises, and achieves its international goals."

Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) mission is to "ensure adequate protection of the public health and safety, the common defense and security, and the environment in the use of nuclear materials in the United States."

Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) mission is to "reduce loss of life and property and protect our nation’s critical infrastructure from all types of hazards, through a comprehensive, risk-based, emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery."

Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) mission is "to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment."

 

International Organizations

International Maritime Organization (IMO) tries to achieve "safer shipping and cleaner oceans."

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) "is an organization that, most importantly, provides governments a setting in which to discuss, develop and perfect economic and social policy."
